Manoj Muntashir, A Writer, Speaks Out About The Besharam Rang controversy, Calling It A “Mistake” On The Part Of The Roducers.

Pathaan, Siddharth Anand’s magnum opus, is set to hit theatres next year. The spy thriller, dubbed “One of Shah Rukh Khan’s Biggest Projects,” also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. The film has been generating a lot of buzz since its teaser was released on King Khan’s birthday earlier this month.

The lead song from Pathaan, Besharam Rang, is currently causing controversy, with Deepika Padukone being heavily trolled for wearing a saffron bikini in the song. Some religious groups were offended by the colour of the bikini, and the actor was also chastised for exposing too much skin. Now, writer Manoj Muntashir has weighed in on the controversy, claiming that the makers may have made a mistake.

Manoj told Dainik Bhaskar that there was definitely some error on the part of the producers and that if people are so upset, then they must have done something wrong. Further elaborating, the Teri Mitti writer stated that if the mistake (regarding the colour of Deepika’s bikini) had been identified during the shoot, the cast and crew would have corrected it immediately, rather than allowing it to snowball into such a major controversy.
Pathaan will be released in theatres on January 25, 2019. Aside from Pathaan, Shah Rukh also has Jawan and Dunki. Deepika will next be seen in Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor
