5 Reasons Shah Rukh Khan Isn’t a Romantic Hero in ‘Dil Se’
Do not let your guard down simply because of the title; instead, listen to what I have to say. This is not a review of the film as a whole, but rather of Shah Rukh Khan’s performance as Amar.
Dil Se is a great music album, and the score deserves an Oscar nomination more than AR Rahman’s score for Slumdog Millionaire. All of the scenes are works of film art, and the performances and plot are excellent.

Dil Se, on the other hand, is ultimately revealed to be a love story about two people caught up in political turmoil. The love story has a significant flaw.
Anyone who reads this and thinks they could have a love like Amar and Meghna needs to wake up, because this is NOT a love story. Dil Se does not centre on love. An MRI of the brain could also be used.
Despite his romantic hero persona in the film Dil Se, Shah Rukh Khan is a stalker for the five reasons listed below.
1. His Primary Concern Is The Girl

Amar (Shah Rukh Khan) and Meghna (Manisha Koirala) meet only once at a train station, but he follows her all the way to Ladakh. Despite being rejected and beaten, he continues to pursue her.
You’re mistaken if you think stalking a girl will make her fall in love with you. This is the pitai recipe that has been kept secret rather than the pyaar recipe.
2. Are Unable To Comprehend The Concept Of “No”

In the film Dil Se, Shah Rukh Khan plays the stereotypical dil-phaink aashiq, as was common in many films from the 1990s. Meghna, played by Manisha Koirala, explains to him on several occasions that he simply does not understand the word “no.”
He continues to stalk and harass her, oblivious to the fact that his presence is unwanted and makes her feel unsafe.
3. She Assaults The Female Victim.

Meghna repeatedly tells Amar that she does not want him to touch her in Dil Se, but watching him do so is extremely uncomfortable and upsetting for a woman like me. The revelation that Meghna had been a victim of sexual abuse as a child adds to the shock of her being a victim of sexual assault in the middle of the desert.
Isn’t it obvious that she has stated her intentions?
4. Is Unaffected By Defeat
![5 Reasons Shah Rukh Khan Isn't a Romantic Hero in 'Dil Se' 5](https://debonairmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Debonair-Magazine...071022-2022-11-22T203301.187-1024x576.jpg)
Manisha Koirala’s character, Meghna, eventually tyres of Amar’s constant presence and resorts to some unpleasant actions to deal with him.
Even after she told Amar she was married, he continued to harass her. To keep him away from her, her brothers had to beat him up. Instead of pleading for his life, he inquires as to whether any of them is married to her, only to discover that this is not the case.
Because of this, he now has even more hope for a future with Meghna. sigh
5. Racist Attitudes And Behavior

In the first half of Dil Se, while looking for her, Amar refers to Meghna as an Assamese woman, which is a racially insensitive slur.
After only one encounter, he claims to be head over heels in love with Meghna, describing her as “choti aankhein, chapti naak.” “Choti aankhein” and “Chapti naak”
This scene in the film feels like a setback after so many years of progress in the fight against racism.
