With Her Role In The Marathi Film Ved, Genelia Deshmukh Remarks, “Break Gave Me A New Perspective”
Genelia Deshmukh talked about returning to acting after a protracted absence. The actor can be seen in Ved, the Marathi movie directed by her husband, actor Riteish Deshmukh. Majili, a 2019 Telugu movie, was remade into the romantic drama, which has been doing incredibly well at the box office.
The actor, who has been working in the business for 20 years, made his breakthrough in the 2008 film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with Imran Khan. On February 3, 2012, she wed Riteish, and her acting career slowed down. Riaan and Rahyl, the couple’s two sons, were born in 2014 and 2016, respectively. While she was away, she mentioned how much she missed acting.
In a conversation with Mid-Day, Genelia admitted that she was unsure about returning. She described how she had grown up and said, “I used to wonder, Will people like me? Even if they do, will they want to see me again? Have they changed? But this break helped me see things differently. It helped me comprehend the roles I want to play. I am unable to perform as Aditi from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na today, but I can perform as Shravani from Ved. In this way, I can relate to the young woman who moved from Aditi to Shravani when she was a child.
Together with Riteish, she made her acting debut in the 2003 Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam as Genelia D’Souza. Her most recent significant endeavours were the 2012 Telugu and Hindi films Naa Ishtam and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. She co-starred with Riteish in cameo roles in the Marathi film Lai Bhaari (2014) and the Hindi films Jai Ho (2014) and Force 2 (2016). She joined Mauli as a producer as well. She also starred opposite Riteish in the Shaad Ali-directed comedy Mister Mummy this year.
Additionally, she has plans to make a comeback in the Telugu film industry with an unnamed movie that will star Kireeti, the son of former minister of Karnataka Gali Janardhan Reddy. Radha Krishna will helm the Telugu and Kannada language bilingual movie.
