When Aamir Khan’s film Laal Singh Chaddha was about to be released earlier this year, he received some of the harshest criticism of his career.
The film’s underwhelming box office performance belied its stellar cast and remake of the classic Forrest Gump, in part due to social media backlash directed at Aamir Khan. Kareena Kapoor and Naga Chaitanya also appeared in the film.
Not long after, rumours began to circulate that Aamir Khan was thinking about taking a break from acting.
The actor recently gave an interview in which he addressed the situation and revealed why he left the acting industry after LSC failed.
“I get so lost in my life that nothing else happens,” he said at a press conference. As a result, after finishing LSC, I was supposed to contribute to the fantastic film Champions. But I feel like taking a break and spending time with my loved ones, particularly my mother and children.
“I’ve been working nonstop for the past 35 years, and that’s all I’ve been thinking about,” he continues. And it’s not right to treat my closest friends and family in this manner. Around this time, my ideal day includes spending time with my mother and children. It’s about time you tried something new with your previous experiences. This is why I am looking forward to the next 2.5 years, when I will have no acting commitments.
Furthermore, he stated, “This will be the first time in my life that I will not be working as an actor, but as a producer.” I’m producing a film called “Champions,” and instead of acting in it, I’ll be casting others to fill the role I hoped to get.
People are saying things like, “LSC hit him hard,” in an attempt to figure out if this take is related to Aamir Khan’s box office failure. Now, in his opinion, is not the time to take such a step. Because they expect the boycott movement to fizzle out after a while.
Simultaneously, increasing attention was drawn to the actor’s appearance, which appeared to differ significantly from that of his LSC character.
