Vijay’s Film, Varisu, Is Old Wine In The Most Beautiful Bottle

On Wednesday, the trailer for Vijay’s upcoming Tamil film Varisu, which is set to be released during the Pongal festival, was released. According to the trailer, the plot revolves around the youngest son of a large family rising to the occasion when their business empire is on the verge of failing.

Vamshi Paidipally directs the film, which marks his first collaboration with Vijay, who is also making his Telugu debut with this project.

The trailer reveals almost the entire plot of the film. It is the story of Vijay and his two elder brothers, who form one big joint family. Sarath Kumar plays the patriarch, in charge of the family business. When a business rival decides to play dirty, the family is targeted, and it is up to Vijay to keep the family together no matter what.

Varisu, along with Ajith’s Thunivu, will be the first major Tamil release of the year. Both films are preparing for a titanic box-office clash. Dil Raju, the producer of Varisu, recently stated that Vijay is a bigger star in Tamil Nadu than Ajith.

Varisu producer Dil Raju discussed the feud with Thunivu in an interview with Telugu channel NTV. Concerning the clash, he stated that Vijay is a bigger star in Tamil Nadu than Ajith. As a result, his film (Varisu) deserves to be seen on more screens than Thunivu.

“In Tamil Nadu, Ajith sir’s film is releasing alongside my film,” Dil Raju said in the clip. It is well known that Vijay sir is Tamil Nadu’s number one star. The state has 800 screens in total. Both films are currently playing on an equal number of screens. Because Vijay sir is a bigger star than Ajith, I’m literally begging for at least 50 more screens for my film.”
