Tunisha Sharma’s Death Serves As A Wake-Up Call For Television

FWICE recently chastised the producers of Tunisha Sharma’s show Ali Baba: Daastan-E-Kabul for negligence because the set lacked a doctor on call or an ambulance. It sparked a debate about whether having an ambulance on the set of a show should be made mandatory.

“The show’s female lead has died, and one of the leads is in jail. However, the production is continuing with the shoot. That demonstrates that they are only concerned with money and not with the artists involved. After committing suicide last month, Sheezan Khan drove Tunisha to the hospital in a private vehicle. On the set, there was no ambulance or doctor. BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, wonders why (Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees).

“We have repeatedly stated that ambulances on set should be made mandatory,” he adds. People used to follow this during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, but have since stopped. Artists from our organisation will no longer work on any set that does not have an ambulance on site.”
