This tiny detail convinces fans which actor plays ‘Dev’ in Brahmastra 2
Since the release of Brahmastra audiences have been left with a lingering question to which they have yet to find an answer. Please don’t think we’re discussing the film’s box office success.
While industry analysts calculate the film’s box office take, fans vote on who they think will play the anti-hero ‘Dev’ in the sequel.
Everyone has guessed who it is, from Ranveer Singh and Arjum Rampal to SRK and even Ranbir Kapoor himself. Fans have made assumptions despite the fact that the Brahmastra team has been relatively quiet on the subject.
One Reddit thread went to great lengths to identify the actor who plays Dev, and its participants are all in agreement that it is Ranbir Kapoor. This is only one type of guesswork that occurs.
After comparing the size of the noses of Ranveer and Ranbir to that of the unnamed character Dev, one Reddit user claims, “The nose says it all… ranbir kapoor not Ranveer Singh is Dev in Brahmastra 2.”
Several other people have joined the thread to share their own theories, and some of the original posters are worried that if Ranveer Singh is not cast in the role of Dev, they will be disappointed. Another fan agreed, writing, “Using Ranveer as Dev would set the BO on fire,” and citing Anupama Chopra’s earlier this year interview as proof that Ranveer would play the role.
It also makes sense that people say Ranbir Kapoor can’t play Dev because “if Shiva looked the same as Dev, Guruji and Artist would have recognised Shiva right away.”
Ayan Mukerji, the author of Part 1, has admitted that he originally planned to reveal Dev’s identity near the end of the book, but ultimately decided to keep fans guessing and save the reveal for Brahmastra 2 Part 2. “I will go out on a limb and say that he is possibly the most exciting character that I will be taking on in my career so far,” Ayan said of Dev.
All we can do now is wait and see what kind of person Dev becomes.
