Thandel: First Glimpse Reveals Naga Chaitanya And Sai Pallavi’s Stirring Patriotic Drama

Ever since the announcement of Naga Chaitanya’s 23rd film, titled Thandel, anticipation has been building around this powerful patriotic drama. The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, is the third collaboration between Chaitanya and Mondeti, following their successful projects Premam (2016) and Savyasachi (2018).
A Reunion of On-Screen Chemistry
Thandel also marks the second collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi after their 2021 film Love Story. The makers have now unveiled a sneak peek into the film titled “Essence of Thandel,” offering a glimpse into the world of the movie.
The First Glimpse
The 2-minute 11-second video opens with Naga Chaitanya’s character heading out into the sea, setting the stage for what unfolds. Transitioning to a prison in Karachi, the character faces challenges from police officers, yet boldly expresses patriotism for India. The video concludes by introducing Sai Pallavi’s character, strolling on the beach.
Unveiling True Events: Thandel’s Background
Thandel is grounded in true events related to the fisherfolk in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, in 2018. Naga Chaitanya’s character is portrayed as a fisherman from this community. To prepare for the film, director Chandoo Mondeti and Naga Chaitanya visited K. Matchilesam village in Srikakulam, immersing themselves in the local culture and lifestyle of the fisherfolk.

Produced by Bunny Vas under the Geetha Arts banner, the film boasts music by National Award winner Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Shamdat, and editing by Naveen Nooli.
Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in Other Venture
Naga Chaitanya recently made his web-series debut with the supernatural horror thriller Dhootha. Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi, last seen in the legal drama Gargi, has another project in the pipeline—Sivakarthikeyan’s film with Rajkumar Periyasamy, tentatively titled SK21.

Apart from Thandel, Sai Pallavi is set to essay a prominent role in Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film, while Naga Chaitanya continues to diversify his portfolio with web-series and film ventures.
