Raveena Tandon, a legendary actress with a career spanning over three decades, is not only known for her cinematic achievements but also for her compassionate heart. In addition to her on-screen prowess, she is a staunch advocate for animal rights and environmental causes. Raveena’s compassionate spirit shines through as she shares her journey of adopting two girls in her twenties and, more recently, her thoughts on her daughter Chaya’s interfaith wedding.

Embracing Interfaith Love

Raveena Tandon discusses her daughter's interfaith wedding and the unbreakable bond with her children in a heartfelt interview.

In a recent interview with Lehren Retro, Raveena was asked about her views on interfaith marriages, given that her adopted daughter Chhaya had married into a Catholic family. Raveena’s response was both heartwarming and insightful: “Of course, why not? We are all human beings at the end.”

Breaking Taboos with Love

During the interfaith wedding, Raveena proudly shared how they broke several taboos. She mentioned, “It was such a beautiful interfaith wedding. We did her chooda ceremony, with her wearing it on her gown. I gave her away, walking her down the aisle, which was another breaking of taboo. The mangalsutra was tied after the vows were taken, and sindoor was applied in the church, creating a perfect blend of traditions. I take pride in that. I take pride in the freedom our country allows us.”

A Lifetime Bond with Her Children

Raveena’s love knows no boundaries. In the same interview, she opened up about the special bond she shares with her two adopted daughters, Pooja and Chhaya, as well as her biological children, daughter Rasha and son Ranbirvardhan. She stated, “It’s a lifetime commitment, filled with relationships, bonds, love, and emotions. We all share a unique connection. They are the older siblings to my younger ones. That’s the way it is.”

A Remarkable Journey of Love

Raveena Tandon’s journey of love and compassion is truly inspirational. In 1995, in her twenties, she adopted two teenagers. Following her breakup with actor Akshay Kumar, she tied the knot with film distributor Anil Thadani in February 2004 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The couple was blessed with Rasha in 2005 and Ranbirvardhan in 2008.

Raveena Tandon’s story is a testament to love’s boundless nature and the breaking of societal norms to embrace a world filled with compassion and understanding. Her daughter’s interfaith wedding serves as a beautiful example of unity in diversity.
