Rajpal Yadav, the renowned Bollywood actor known for his comedic timing and diverse roles, recently shared an incident involving his mother’s reaction to seeing him being slapped on screen. During an interview with Lallantop, Yadav revealed that his mother was terrified and fled the room while watching the 1999 Doordarshan television episode titled “Mungeri Ke Bhai Naurangilal,” where he played the main character, Naurangilal. The scene in question involved Yadav being repeatedly slapped by his boss, Mr Sethi.

Yadav explained that at the time of the incident, he was yet to make his film debut and was acting in the television series. Since his village only had access to the single channel, DD1, everyone gathered to watch the show. In the scene, Yadav’s character was dreaming about a scene from the movie “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” where Shah Rukh Khan’s character gets beaten up. However, since Yadav was enacting the scene in his dream, he had to endure multiple slaps from his boss. His mother, upon witnessing this, became terrified and left the room.

Yadav had to explain to his parents, who had no prior connection with the film industry, that such scenes were a part of acting and that trained actors perform them. He also clarified that writers often include such scenes to make the audience laugh and contribute to the success of the film. Despite his explanation, Yadav admitted that his parents still don’t fully comprehend his profession.
