Protesters Burn Shah Rukh Khan Effigies And Demand The Ban Of The Deepika Padukone-Led Film Pathaan.
While the Bollywood community and many of Shah Rukh Khan’s fans could not stop praising his film Pathaan, it has encountered some difficulties in certain regions of India. Apparent disruptions occurred in Indore as a Right-Wing group demanded a ban on the film’s release and objected to the recently released song “Besharam Rang,” which features the popular actress Deepika Padukone in bikinis.
It appears that a group named Veer Shivaji group planned street protests in Indore where they burned effigies of the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. According to reports, protestors asserted that the song “Besharam Rang” featuring the superstar and leading lady Deepika Padukone offended the Hindu community. Consequently, they have demanded a ban on the release of Pathaan, which is anticipated for January of next year.
This is likely not the first time that the SRK film has been scrutinised. The Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Narottam Mishra, also expressed his displeasure with the romantic song after its release earlier this week. During an event where he addressed the media, he objected not only to Deepika Padukone’s attire but also to the song itself. He had stated, “I also find the meaning of the song’s title, ‘Besharam Rang,’ offensive. The song is made with a tainted mentality, and the actor and actress are dressed in objectionable green and saffron clothing, he had said, adding that if the filmmakers refused to correct their error, he would have to reconsider releasing the film in MP.
Coming to the film Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, Deepika Padukone will play Shah Rukh Khan’s leading lady, while John Abraham will play the antagonist. The release date for the film is January 25, 2023.
