Preliminary Reports On ‘Pathaan’s’ Earnings Friday Marks The First Day Of A Decline In Earnings For The Shah Rukh Khan Film

The Bollywood’s ‘Badshah’ On Friday, Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release, ‘Pathaan,’ directed by Siddharth Anand, suffered its first drop in box office collections.
The film, which managed to hover above the Rs 50 crore barrier for two days, reportedly suffered a decline in box office results on its third day. According to reports on boxofficeindia.com, early estimations are around Rs 35-36 crore.

This brings the total collection to around Rs 158-159 crore nett. The film, which has had a historic run in theatres, broke the previous record set by ‘KGF 2’, which made an estimated Rs 140.50 crore nett in its first weekend. However, it should be emphasised that SRK earned more money on a working week than other films that had a vacation weekend.

With the Saturday and Sunday vacations providing further room for growth, ‘Pathaan’ is projected to pass the Rs 200 crore nett milestone today. It will come as no surprise if the picture had a blockbuster weekend and concludes Sunday with more than Rs 250 crore nett.
‘Pathaan’ earned Rs. 68 crore nett (Hindi format) on Day 2, while its dubbed forms earned Rs 2.5 crore nett. The film broke its own record for the largest single-day collection ever recorded on the first day, earning a projected total of Rs 57 crore nett.

In response to the film’s success, director Siddharth remarked in a statement, “Making history. Everyone desires it, but it cannot be planned. It simply happens. And when it does, it’s a very humbling experience. I’m feeling quite stressed right now, but I’m also inspired to get back on the set and attempt to produce something truly unique for audiences. That’s how I’m feeling.”
