Prabhas, Adipurush Team Issued Legal Notice Amid Criticism.

With Prabhas and Kriti Sanon playing Lord Ram and Sita, respectively, in Om Raut’s Adipurush, 2023 is expected to be a box office smash.
However, since the release of the first poster and teaser for the magnum opus based on the epic Ramayana, it has garnered attention for all the wrong reasons. This has been the case since both’s debut.
The actor’s portrayal of Lord Ram in Baahubali failed to impress audiences at first. They hoped, however, that the teaser would be of higher quality.
Unexpectedly, moviegoers panned the teaser even more, complaining about the “cartoonish” special effects it featured.
Unfortunately, that was not the end of the story. The Sarva Brahmin Mahasabha promptly issued a legal notice to the film’s director, Om Raut, for allegedly “islamizing” Ramayana.
In light of the ongoing backlash against the film, the National Cine Workers Union has issued a legal notice to the entire Adipurush crew, including producer Bhushan Kumar and the cast. And, yes, you did read that sentence correctly!
As Adipurush filming continues, the production team has received a letter alleging that the filmmakers have insulted Hinduism. According to the notification, “the role of presenting real Ramayana characters as Islamization and the obscene expressions given by them has also been described as a controversial act.” It also shows how the Adipurush producers and artists distorted the character’s original personality from the Hindu epic Ramayana.
The notice was personally delivered to the film’s principal cast and crew by Ashish Rai, an attorney representing the union. According to a quote from his interview with Times Now: “The director and producer of the film Adipurush should be ashamed for mocking India’s predominant Hindu culture. The sacred text The Ramayana emphasises Hinduism more than most other religious texts. Adipurush is notable for its reimagining of Ramayana characters who play pivotal roles in Hinduism’s central epic. As a result, the holy Ramayana and Hindu culture are being mocked. Given these grave concerns, the National Coalition of Women’s Unions (NCWU) has issued a legal notice demanding that all publicity for the film Adipurush be halted immediately. If this issue is not resolved soon, the Adipurush cast and creators will face serious consequences in the form of criminal charges.”
