Pankaj Tripathi On ‘Father’: It’s Wonderful To See Artists From Many Fields And Areas Collaborate
Few things are as stimulating to an actor as a well-written script. Pankaj Tripathi recalls feeling ecstatic when he read Ritesh Shah’s script for Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s film Father. The actor’s remark, “It’s one of the most amazing things I’ve seen in the past five or six years,” is indicative of the script’s quality, given his story-telling talent. When I am so enthusiastic about the [subject matter], I am confident that the outcome will be commensurate.”
Father is an investigational drama set against the reunification of a dysfunctional family. Recently, the unit concluded up filming in Kolkata. As he worked with Malayalam actor Parvathy Thiruvothu and Sanjana Sanghi for the first time, Tripathi remarked that collaborating with artists of diverse sensibilities enriches one. “The film stars Parvathy, Sanjana, Dhaka-born actor Jaya Ahsan, and a large number of emerging artists. It’s [delightful] to see artists from all industries and locations unite.”

He desired to work with Chowdhury ever since he seen the director’s Pink (2016). He deems the coupling to be “amazing.” “I had so much fun working with Tony da that I didn’t even realise when filming was over. “The film is about a father and daughter; it explores their relationship and how far they will go for one other,” says the actor who portrays Sanghi’s father.
