Nevermind! Om Raut Doesn’t Defend Saif’s Ravana Look.
If there is one thing that has become clear in the film industry over the last few months, it is that if a film does not have great content, the audience will not sit through it, regardless of how much money or famous actors are invested in it. This is true even if a large sum of money is spent or a celebrity cast is assembled.
As a result, it is critical to listen to what people have to say and address their concerns. This could be why the film’s director, Om Raut, and dialogue writer, Manoj Muntashir, have finally addressed the criticisms levelled at their upcoming film, Adipurush, since the official teaser was released.
The teaser has been viewed over 89 million times in just a few days, but it has also received over 800,000 dislikes on YouTube, indicating the audience’s reaction.
Along with the film’s lacklustre special effects, the portrayal of Ravana in the teaser was a major source of criticism.
Despite the fact that Ravana was a brahmin, many people mistook him for a Mughal emperor.
While speaking with Aaj Tak, Om Raut defended Ravana’s appearance in Adipurush. Om Raut stated in an interview with Aaj Tak, “Ravana of today is cruel and demonic. Our goddess Sita was clearly kidnapped by a cruel person. We’ve established Ravana’s current appearance. We are not making a film or any other type of production here. This has been assigned to us. We need everyone’s support and encouragement because the film we’re making reflects our hard work. One of our more experienced members is most likely discussing the film. I’m taking careful notes on each one of them. When the film finally hits theatres in January 2023, I guarantee you and the rest of the audience will not be disappointed.
Furthermore, author Manoj Raut chimed in on the debate, saying, “I’m curious whether the Khilji wears a tilak or a tripund. Which Khilji leader is pictured wearing a rudraksh and a janeu (holy thread) around his neck? Our Ravana is decked out in all of these, as seen in this brief glimpse.”
Others defended Om Raut by saying, “Only Ramananda Sagar Serial Portrayed Ravana Like That, and Om Raut Portrayed Him Like That.” Despite the fact that many viewers continue to accuse the film’s creators of mocking religious sentiments with Ravana’s appearance, others have come to Om Raut’s defence. So, what exactly is the distinction? Nobody knows how disconnected Ravana is from reality. So, don’t say anything and brand yourself “burnol” on the front and back. Prabhas’ rule over India begins with his portrayal of Rama. We can now proceed.”
The film will be released the following year, with Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles.
