The sale took place at the New York auction house Christie’s, which has been responsible for handling various Hollywood props, including Judy Garland’s ruby slippers from ‘The Wizard of Oz’ as part of the collection titled ‘The Magnificent Jewels of Anne Eisenhower.’

Christie’s VP and jewelry specialist, Claibourne Poindexter, described the bracelet as legendary and one of Marlene Dietrich’s favorite pieces. Designed by Louis Arpel, the bracelet is known for its boldness, large scale, and exquisite curvature. It gained prominence after Dietrich beautifully wore it in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1950 film ‘Stage Fright.’ The bracelet’s design transcends traditional styles, standing as a unique work of high glamour and art.
Record-Breaking Auction
The auction, which generated a total of $11.5 million, saw Marlene Dietrich’s bracelet fetch the highest amount. The bracelet, accompanied by diamond earrings, a diamond necklace, a matching ruby bracelet, as well as earrings and pins, was estimated to sell for $2,500,000-$4,500,000 but reached the higher end of the scale during the sale. Prior to its auction, the bracelet was part of a collection owned by the granddaughterof former President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
