Madras High Court Defers Decision On Leo’s 4 Am Show Request
The Makers of the film ‘Leo’ have recently filed a case, requesting special permissions for early morning shows, which was subject to a court hearing today.
Madras High Court’s Verdict: Tamil Nadu Government to Decide

Today, Justice Anita Sumanth, presiding over the Madras High Court, has conveyed a significant decision regarding the special screening of ‘Leo.’ The court has decided to leave the final call to the Tamil Nadu government, which will determine whether the film can have early shows from 7 am, between October 19 and October 24.
Makers Seek to Overturn Government Order
The creators of ‘Leo’ approached the court to challenge the previous government’s order imposed by the Tamil Nadu government, which restricted the film from having special early shows. The Madras High Court has refrained from passing a judgment for a 4 am show, citing that the government order has not been challenged. Additionally, the producer of ‘Leo’ and representatives from the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association have been directed to engage in discussions with TN Government officials at 4 pm today.
Time Constraints for Early Shows
The film’s total runtime is estimated to be 2 hours and 44 minutes, accounting for the interval time, cleaning breaks, and the mandatory gap between every two shows. This accumulates to a duration of 3 hours and 45 minutes for each show. However, the government order allows shows only between 9 am to 1:30 am, totaling 16 hours and 30 minutes. In contrast, neighboring states like Kerala and Karnataka have permitted 4 am shows due to the high demand for the film’s release. The final decision regarding ‘Leo’s’ special permissions will be known after the discussions today.
High Demand for ‘Leo’s’ Release
Bookings for ‘Leo’ are currently in high demand. The film, set to hit screens in just two days, is breaking records in domestic and international centers. It is anticipated to have a spectacular opening day due to its high anticipation.
Director’s Appeal to Audiences
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, in an interview, has urged the audience to watch the movie with a ‘clean mindset.’ He emphasized the tremendous anticipation for the film and recommended not missing the first 10 minutes, which involved the hard work of around 3000 crew members. ‘Leo,’ starring Thalapathy Vijay, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, and more, will release in theaters on October 19th.
