Kareena Kapoor Khan Sets The Record Straight On Infamous ‘Catfight’ With Priyanka Chopra

The two renowned Bollywood actresses, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra, who shared the screen in the 2004 film “Aitraaz” alongside Akshay Kumar, have long been plagued by reports and speculations of a bitter rivalry between them. At one point in the early 2000s, there were even whispers of a ‘catfight’ occurring during their travels in Antwerp for a concert. However, Kareena Kapoor Khan has finally addressed these infamous rumors, dismissing them as baseless.

A Look Back at the ’90s and Early 2000s

Kareena Kapoor Khan dispels long-standing rumors about a feud with Priyanka Chopra, shedding light on a bygone era of Bollywood rivalry.

During an interview with Mid Day, Kareena Kapoor Khan was asked about the trend of actresses being pitted against each other and the catfights that frequently made headlines in the ’90s and early 2000s. She candidly responded, “Oh God! The ’90s were full of it, the ’90s started, and in 2000, everyone was having a catfight. Kuch bhi bol do and catfight. (Say anything, and it is reported as catfight).” She went on to mention that such incidents are less common today, reflecting a more harmonious industry environment.

Clearing the Air

When directly questioned about the alleged catfight between her and Priyanka Chopra in Antwerp, Kareena stated unequivocally, “No, no, no, all rubbish. I was like, what is going on? But I think maybe we all had that energy – you know, some sort of thing where we were all wanting to just prove ourselves.” She admitted that in those days, the competitiveness was intense, with everyone wanting to be the best. However, she emphasized that this attitude has evolved, and individuals have matured through their experiences.

Evolving Perspectives

Kareena reflected on her younger years, acknowledging the ‘zest’ and the constant pursuit of being the best that characterized that time. She noted that as she entered her thirties, she felt more relaxed, attributing this change to finding a stable relationship. She concluded that this newfound equilibrium in her personal life played a role in her evolving perspective.

Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in “Jaane Jaan.” Her upcoming projects include Hansal Mehta’s thriller, “The Buckingham Murders,” and “The Crew,” in which she stars alongside Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Diljit Dosanjh. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is set to appear in “The Heads Of State,” co-starring John Cena and Idris Elba.
