It’s Amazing! Katrina Inspired By Mani Ratnam’s “Ponniyin Selvan-I”
Katrina Kaif’s acting career began in 2003 with the release of the film Boom, and she’s come a long way since then.
She had a rocky start in film, but the 2007 smash hit Namastey London helped her turn things around. Since then, she’s appeared in films such as Partner, Welcome, Race, Singh Is Kinng, New York, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Sooryavanshi.
Katrina is currently one of Bollywood’s highest-paid female stars, and her next film will be Gurmmeet Singh’s Phone Bhoot. The film, which will be released in theatres on November 4th, also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter.

The actress, who is currently promoting the horror comedy, recently gave an interview in which she praised Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Sevlan-I and stated that she would like to act in future South Indian films.
“The language barrier is something I can easily overcome,” Katrina told IANS, “and when it comes to filmmaking, southern India is home to some truly amazing directors.”
“Mani Ratnam sir’s “Ponniyin Selvan: 1″ is the best and most recent illustration of this, right? Amazingly grandiose visuals accompanied by stunning visuals and musical compositions. To have made such a massive film at this point in his career demonstrates the strength of character of a legendary filmmaker,” she continued.
But we’d all love to see Kat in films set primarily in the South. In case you were wondering, the last time we saw the actress in a local production was 16 years ago.
She debuted in the 2004 Telugu film Malliswari and has since appeared in the Telugu films Allari Pidugu and Balram vs. Tharadas, both of which are notable due to her success in the South (Malayalam).
Among Katrina’s upcoming professional projects are Tiger 3 and Merry Christmas.
