I’d have two wives Jackie Shroff’s wife wanted to be sisters with his ex-girlfriend.
Ayesha and Jackie Shroff have one of Bollywood’s most intriguing love stories. They may be better known today as Tiger Shroff’s parents, but back in the 1980s, this stunning couple had their own “filmy” story and was widely regarded as one of B-most town’s attractive couples.
Ayesha had already established herself as an urban princess and was from a powerful family, whereas Jackie Shroff was still struggling to make ends meet. On their way to marrying in 1987, the couple overcame many obstacles, including the fact that they came from vastly different backgrounds and saw the world in vastly different ways.
Of course, their love story, like any other, has its share of drama. Jackie told Simi Garewal before she moved to the United States that he was in love with an Indian girl. Ayesha had written a letter to the girl, begging her to return to India and saying she was willing to live as “sisters” with her, despite the fact that Jackie was deeply in love with Ayesha.
“I knew she loved me deeply when she wrote a letter to my ex-girlfriend who was living in the US at the time,” you say. She promised to return from America, so I tracked her down and fell in love with her in the meantime. I told her I’m madly in love with an American girl. She will be present as well. As he revealed in the interview, after he granted Ayesha permission to write her a letter, she wrote, “Once you come back, we will live like sisters and get married to Jackie together.” Ayesha had previously asked for permission to write her a letter. “So I would have had two wives!” he continued, laughing.
All I wanted was to have him in my life.
When Simi questioned Ayesha’s motives, she replied, “If I had to choose between losing him and staying with her, it would be as simple as that.” Ayesha explained what she was thinking when Simi asked.
It’s difficult to imagine anyone actually doing something so impractical, but a “filmy” love story wouldn’t be complete without some sort of tension, would it?
