Here’s How SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, And Jr NTR Reacted To RRR’s Victory

The Telugu film RRR’s song Naatu Naatu made history when it won Best Original Song at the 80th Golden Globes. The hit song outperformed songs by Taylor Swift and Rihanna. When it was announced that Naatu Naatu and RRR had won, director SS Rajamouli, as well as actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR, all jumped out of their seats and raised their hands in celebration. As the entire table celebrated composer MM Keeravaani, their joyous reaction was captured on camera.

The film’s official Twitter account tweeted the video with the caption, “And the GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG Goes to #NaatuNaatu #GoldenGlobes #GoldenGlobes2023 #RRRMovie.” The accompanying video shows Rajamouli and the lead actors celebrating the film’s first Golden Globe win. Both Ram and NTR are dressed in black, while Rajamouli is dressed in an Indian outfit with a red dupatta. Lakshmi Pranathi, NTR’s wife, and Upasana, Ram’s wife, were also present at the table.

The category was announced by Jenna Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s web series. The trio also applauded the composer as he approached the podium. Several fans, both Indian and foreign, congratulated the team and the film on their historic victory. In the comments, fans also shared gifs of the stars dancing.

As one fan put it, “Wow (emoji for “wow”), #nattunattu wins a Golden Globe (okay, thumbs up and clapping emojis) This is a proud moment for Indians. I hope this provides much-needed motivation to all Indian artists and filmmakers. #RRR, congratulations.” Beyond Fest, where the film was screened over the weekend, responded with “Legendary.”

The team had a mixed bag of results, winning one award but losing another. The film was also nominated for Best Non-English Language Film, but it lost to Argentina in 1985. The cast and crew attended their first major Hollywood awards ceremony together and are still anticipating the upcoming Oscar nominations. Naatu Naatu has been nominated for an Oscar in the song category, and the film is expected to win several other awards as well.
