Diljit Dosanjh Will Perform At Coachella 2023; Fans Are Ecstatic: ‘This Is Huge, And You Were Definitely Born To Shine’

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup for this year was revealed on January 11, and it includes Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. The festival’s headliners are Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean, and K-pop band BLACKPINK, and it will take place over two weekends, April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23. Pakistani Pasoori singer Ali Sethi, Gorillaz, Rosalia, Bjork, and others are also scheduled to perform.

Music fans expressed excitement about this year’s lineup of performers after the Coachella 2023 lineup was revealed. Many people were taken aback when they saw Indian representation on the list, thanks to Diljit. While some were happy they would be able to see Diljit perform and said they had bought tickets for his show already, others were stoked about listening to ‘Punjabi music at Coachella’.

A follower tweeted, “Whatttt!! @coachella Punjabi music?!?!?! Congratulations to @diljitdosanjh for putting us on the map in this way.” Another person stated, “Diljit singing at Coachella?!?! This is insane.” Another tweet stated, “This is MASSIVE. @coachella lineup includes @diljitdosanjh. Well deserved.” Another tweet emphasised RRR’s win at the 2023 Golden Globes, saying, “A historic day for the Indian music scene. RRR wins the Golden Globe for best original sound in 2023, and @diljitdosanjh is on the Coachella lineup.” “Historic,” a fan tweeted about Diljit’s upcoming performance.

A follower also tweeted, “Coachella lineup… so proud of the diversity of the 2023 lineup! So happy to see @diljitdosanjh on stage!! The entire world will adore it. I need all of my Punjabis to show up at Coachella! OUTSTANDING SUCCESS.” Another person tweeted, “Coachella with Diljit Dosanjh?!?! I have no regrets about making the QUICKEST impulse purchase of my life.” A fan tweeted, “Definitely born to shine,” in reference to Diljit’s recent world tour, Born to Shine.

Other notable performers include Jai Paul, Burna Boy, Dominic Fike, Bjork, Remi Wolf, The Chemical Brothers, Blondie, Rae Sremmurd, Pusha T, Charli XCX, Underworld, Wet Leg, and Weyes Blood, in addition to Diljit. Following the cancellation of the event in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, last year’s edition featured Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd, among many others.
