Daniel Craig, known for his portrayal of James Bond, had a supporting role in the iconic film Tomb Raider alongside Angelina Jolie. Despite gaining new fame through this action-adventure flick, Craig revealed in a later interview that he did not like his role in the film. He attributed the biggest issue to the film’s script.

The Impact of Tomb Raider on Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig recently revealed in an interview that his role in Angelina Jolie's Tomb Raider was his 'worst mistake.' The actor expressed regret over signing the film and criticized the script. Find out more about his candid remarks and why he felt like a 'spare p*nis at a wedding' throughout the production.

Daniel Craig rose to fame with his portrayal of James Bond in Casino Royale (2006) and played the iconic character in a total of five movies. His most recent appearance as the suave spy was in No Time To Die (2021).

Reflecting on Tomb Raider, Craig expressed his frustration with the movie. He criticized the lack of a script, stating, “On something like Tomb Raider, you’re beholden to the fact that you’re—they didn’t have a script. So that’s as simple as that. You can’t start a film without a script.” He further described his experience, saying, “Tomb Raider slowed things down for me. It was the worst mistake I’ve made. But it was also a good lesson.” Craig highlighted the incoherence of the script, referring to it as “all over the f* place” and expressing his inability to comprehend the storyline involving “eight-foot f* green monkeys or some such b**locks.”

The Impact on Angelina Jolie

While Craig expressed his regret and dissatisfaction with his role, he acknowledged that Angelina Jolie had it worse. Jolie portrayed the lead character and had to endure the repercussions of the film’s reception.

Interestingly, Jolie shared similar sentiments about Tomb Raider, emphasizing her dissatisfaction with the adaptation. She stated that during the making of the film, they were still figuring out how to translate a video game character into a person. Jolie felt that the character was still portrayed as a video vixen, lacking depth and genuine emotions. She believed that the film failed to capture the desired level of sexiness and realism.
