Child actor Rahul Koli, 10, dies of leukaemia in ‘Chhello Show’.
Rahul Koli, a recently deceased child actor, played a pivotal role in the Gujarati film Chhello Show (The Last Film Show), in which he starred at the tender age of ten. The child had been undergoing leukaemia treatment for four months. He died on October 2nd, after taking his final breath.
The world premiere of Chhello Show, India’s Oscar 2023 submission film, was scheduled for October 14.

For those who haven’t seen the play, Rahul plays Manu, one of the six child artists and a close friend of the protagonist, Samay.
His relatives gathered in Hapa village, near Jamnagar, on Monday to mourn the loss of their young relative.
Rahul’s father, Ramu Koli, an auto-rickshaw driver, described the tragic event in an interview with TOI as follows: “On Sunday, October 2, he ate his breakfast, and then after experiencing repeated bouts of fever in the following hours, Rahul vomited blood three times, and just like that, my child was no longer with us.” Our entire family is perplexed. However, on October 14, the day before his film’s premiere, we will all gather to watch his “Last Film Show,” which will take place after he has completed his final purification rituals.

“He was so happy and would often tell me that our lives would change after October 14,” he continued. But he abandoned us before that happened.”
Rahul Koli had a mild fever at first, which persisted despite extensive medical attention. He was then transferred to Jamnagar for further treatment before being admitted to an Ahmedabad hospital. The child actor was the eldest of three brothers and sisters when he began acting as a child.
Even though we are poor, Rahul’s dream meant everything to us, according to his father. Unfortunately, we had to sell our rickshaw to cover Rahul’s medical expenses, but the film crew was aware of this and purchased it back for us.
Everyone on set, according to director Nalin Pandya (Pan Nalin), did their absolute best to assist the family. He was pronounced dead after weeks of caring for Rahul with his family, he said.
I beseech God to grant him eternal peace.
