Channing Tatum On The Remake Of ‘Ghost’: We Will Do Something Different

After stripping off on stage for his upcoming film, actor Channing Tatum is prepared to take up pottery. The actor, who will reprise his role as Magic Mike in Magic Mike’s Last Dance, is interested in replacing the late Patrick Swayze in the remake of Ghost (1990).

During an interview, the 42-year-old actor said that he is planning a remake of the love picture from 1990. During the interview, done during a pottery session, he stated, “Now I understand why they included this in Ghost.” He said, “This entire procedure is extremely, extremely sexual.”

During the conversation, Tatum disclosed that his production firm Free Association, formerly known as 33&Out, presently owns the rights to Ghost.

Providing insight into his concept for the future production, he stated that it will be a contemporary adaptation of the original film, with him maybe playing the male lead. “However, we’re going to do something different,” he revealed, adding that the original film, like many of its era, included “problematic tropes.” He continued, “I believe certain modifications are necessary.”

Tatum also addressed the state of the X-Men Gambit film in development at 21st Century Fox prior to its acquisition by the Walt Disney Company. “It was swallowed up by Disney via Marvel when they acquired Fox, and eventually I believe that the tone of the film we intended to do was very different from what they wanted to do, or they’re waiting to see how they perform with or without us,” he stated.
