Upon her arrival in Mumbai late Wednesday night, Mumbai Police officials, who investigated the case, revealed that she was framed by other individuals seeking revenge over some incident. Chrisann’s brother, Kevin Pereira, took to social media to share a video of the heartwarming reunion, expressing his joy over finally having her back after the prolonged ordeal. He also thanked their followers for the support they received during this challenging time.
The Drug Case Unraveled by Mumbai Crime Branch
For those unfamiliar with the case, Chrisann was arrested on April 1 at the Sharjah airport after drugs were found in a trophy she was carrying. Investigations by the Mumbai crime branch revealed that she was framed by Paul Anthony and his accomplice Rajesh Bhobhate, along with drug peddler Shanti Singh Rajput. The culprits orchestrated a fake audition in UAE, during which they planted drugs in the trophy carried by Chrisann. However, the Mumbai crime branch’s investigation proved her innocence, leading to her release on bail in April. Despite her release, the UAE authorities had held onto her passport.
This legal victory marks a turning point in Chrisann Pereira’s life and acting career, as she can now move forward with her name cleared of any wrongdoing.
