Ronth Box Office Day 3: Roshan Mathew Thriller Earns ₹3.03 Cr or ₹2.74 Cr? Mixed Signals on Sunday

Conflicting reports from Koimoi and Sacnilk create buzz as Ronth sees steady growth but unclear Day 3 numbers.

Mumbai, June 16: Ronth, starring Roshan Mathew, closed its opening weekend with conflicting box office numbers. Two leading tracking platforms — Koimoi and Sacnilk — have released differing Day 3 estimates, leaving the film’s total collection slightly unclear for now.

Sunday Numbers Don’t Match

On its third day, Koimoi reported that Ronth earned ₹1.21 crore, bringing its three-day net total in India to ₹3.03 crore. The site noted that Sunday saw about 5% growth from Saturday’s ₹1.15 crore.

In contrast, Sacnilk estimated Day 3 earnings at ₹0.92 crore, with the weekend total standing at ₹2.74 crore as of 10 PM Sunday. The ₹29 lakh difference between the two platforms has drawn attention from trade analysts and fans alike.

What’s Behind The Discrepancy?

Such variations are common in early box office tracking. Koimoi’s figures are often based on early inputs from production and distribution sources. They may also include late-night shows or advance bookings. Meanwhile, Sacnilk uses real-time ticketing data and regularly updates its numbers throughout the day. Its 10 PM snapshot might not reflect all screenings, especially late-night or delayed reports from smaller centres.

Cutoff times also affect totals. If one source updates by evening and the other waits until all late shows are done, the difference can be substantial, especially on a busy Sunday.

The Weekend Pattern

Despite the Day 3 mismatch, both platforms report the same figures for the first two days: ₹0.67 crore on Friday and ₹1.15 crore on Saturday. That Saturday jump — nearly 71% — suggests strong word-of-mouth.

Whether Sunday finished at ₹0.92 crore or ₹1.21 crore, the weekend shows an upward trend after a slow start. For a regional thriller with no major promotional blitz, that’s a good sign.

Week 1 Outlook

Assuming a steady weekday run, Ronth is expected to cross the ₹5 crore net mark by Thursday, according to both projections. The current totals — ₹3.03 crore per Koimoi or ₹2.74 crore per Sacnilk — leave it with a solid target if daily earnings hover around ₹40–50 lakh.

The film may not have opened big, but its genre — psychological horror — tends to perform better with time. Urban audiences have shown more interest, especially in Kerala, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Roshan Mathew Drawing Attention

Lead actor Roshan Mathew has slowly built a reputation for thoughtful performances. His earlier work in Moothon, Choked, and Darlings earned praise from both critics and fans. His name alone may not pull crowds on Day 1, but he brings credibility — and that’s helping Ronth stay afloat.

The film, directed by Don Palathara, focuses on eerie silences, psychological unraveling, and an unsettling atmosphere rather than action or spectacle. That’s a risky space, but it seems to be paying off — slowly.

Final Verdict Awaited

Monday’s full-day figures will help determine which platform was closer to the mark. Late-show collections and reconciled theatre reports will close the gap in numbers.

Regardless of which total proves accurate, Ronth has achieved a respectable start for a film in its category. It may not set records, but it’s showing signs of longevity — and that’s not something every film can claim in today’s crowded marketplace.
