Akshay Kumar explains why he’s ’emotionally attached’ to Canada but loves India

Akshay Kumar has directed films that celebrate India and its patriotism, such as “Airlift” and “Raksha Bandhan.” However, the fact that he has a Canadian passport has stuck with him and will not be forgotten as a symbol of his lack of patriotism any time soon.

As a result, the actor is now jokingly referred to as “Canadian” Kumar.

In a 2010 interview, Akshay Kumar discussed his Canadian citizenship and the reasons he feels such a strong attachment to his homeland.

Both of Akshay’s Khiladi Kumar films were commercial successes, despite being shot in Canada. The Canadian government also appointed him as a brand ambassador, emphasising the significance of Canada in his life. It reminds me of the advertisements Shah Rukh Khan is currently making for the Dubai tourism industry.
Akshay Kumar’s statement “In fact, I’ve been designated as an ambassador for this movement. I first went there in 1995 and made two Khiladi films there, both of which were huge box office successes. That calendar year will live on in my memory.”

Furthermore, he told Zoom’s interviewers that he had brought his sick father to Canada for treatment. He was deeply moved by Canadians’ outpouring of love and compassion for his father, and he expressed his gratitude.

“When my father was sick with cancer, I took him to Canada, where he received a lot of love and support from the locals. They were obviously very concerned about him.”

As a result, he has made a significant personal investment in the country.

Nonetheless, this does not negate his undying love for India or his identification as a subcontinental native. At the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, the actor, who is also one of India’s highest taxpayers, expressed his gratitude and admiration for his country.

“I’m clearly an Indian because I pay all of my taxes in the United States. Although I could pay it in that country, I chose to pay it in the country where I am currently residing. I have a job at home. It’s fine for people to say what they think. I just want them to know that I am an Indian and will always be an Indian.”
