After Nearly Three Years, Sushant Singh Rajput’s Mumbai Flat Has Finally Found A New Tenant, Who Will Pay A Monthly Rent Of 5 Lakh Rupees

The flat in Mumbai that late actor Sushant Singh Rajput rented has been empty for nearly three years. According to a new report, the NRI owner has finally found a new tenant and the flat will be rented out soon. Rafique Merchant, a real-estate broker in Mumbai, claims that the flat’s owner approached him a few months ago.

Rafique also stated that reports of the flat being vacant prompted prospective tenants to contact him. The apartment will be rented for 5 lakh per month. In addition, the owners will receive a security deposit of 30 lakh, which is equivalent to six months’ rent. On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his flat.

According to India Today, Rafique stated, “We have found somebody” (a tenant). We are nearing the end of our negotiations with the family. People are now at ease about it (Sushant’s death) because it has been a long time.”

Rafique told Bollywood Hungama last month about finding new tenants, “People are scared to move into this flat. Prospective tenants would not even visit the flat if they learned that it was the same apartment where he died. People are now visiting his flat because the news of his death has worn thin. Nonetheless, the transaction has not been completed. The owner is equally obstinate and refuses to lower the rent. If he does, it will sell quickly. Tenants prefer buying another flat of a similar size in the same area that does not come with the baggage of controversy that this flat does because he is selling it at market value.”

“The parties are informed ahead of time that this is where Sushant used to reside. Some people are unconcerned about the history and want to go for it. However, their friends and family members discourage them from proceeding with the transaction. The owner now refuses to rent out the flat to any film celebrity, no matter who or how big he or she is. “He’s made it clear that he wants to give the flat to a corporate person,” he’d said.

The apartment at Mont Blanc Apartments is a sea-facing duplex 4BHK with 2,500 square feet and a terrace. It is located on Carter Road in Bandra West, Mumbai.

Sushant had taken the flat on the sixth floor for three years in December 2019. He was paying a monthly rent of 4.51 lakh at the time. The late actor was living with his roommates and his then-girlfriend-turned-actor, Rhea Chakraborty.
