‘Action-Hero’ Trailer: Fans Say Ayushmann Khurrana Is ‘Sasta Gerard Butler’

With hits like “Vicky Donor,” “Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhan,” and “Doctor G,” Ayushmann Khurrana has established himself as a go-to for this type of comedy.

When he takes on more serious roles, such as in “Anek” and “Article 15,” the audience is surprised because they are so different from his usual fare.

Many Ayushmann Khurrana fans have wondered, “Is there any role this man cannot play?” watching the trailer for his next film, Action Hero, a gritty drama.

Malaika Arora Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat both appear in the film, with Ahlawat appearing in a musical number.
Internet users have reacted in a variety of ways to the Action Hero preview, which was released earlier today.

Action Hero appears to be unlike any other action film.

In an era when it seems like every other film is being boycotted for some reason, this film’s social commentary on the ephemeral nature of celebrity is especially timely.

Since the trailer’s release, many people have praised Ayushmann Khurrana’s new action persona and script selection abilities.

While some have been complimentary, others have pointed out that he does not appear to be an action hero.

A common theme among a subset of the posts and comments was comparing the actor to action hero icon Gerard Butler.

To be honest, I’m torn between rolling my eyes in disgust and laughing at this comparison.

Anand L. Rai, the film’s producer, recently spoke with the media and explained why Ayushmann Khurrana was cast in the role.

Then he let everything hang out: “When we need a twisted story, Ayushmann is the first person we think of. Ayushmann joined the cast of this action film because of the film’s innovative approach to the genre.”

As such, Action Hero could be an excellent opportunity for Ayushmann Khurrana to demonstrate that he is not limited to being a social comedic actor in Bollywood.

The film will be released in theatres on December 2, 2022.
