SRK Cupped Ranveer’s Cheek at a party, and the Internet Has Not Recovered Since

There’s this video going around, and if you haven’t seen it yet, you will. It’s maybe five seconds long. Shot on someone’s phone at a party, slightly shaky, the kind of footage that looks like it wasn’t supposed to exist. And it’s been living in my head since I first watched it because I genuinely did not expect to feel something watching a clip from a 16-year-old’s birthday party in Mumbai. SRK’s Emotional Gesture for Ranveer

But here we are.

SRK And Ranveer

So Mishka Kamboj, daughter of businessman and BJP leader Mohit Kamboj, turned 16 on March 28. Big celebration, obviously. The kind where the guest list alone becomes a news story. Preity Zinta was there. Shilpa Shetty. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. And then two names that made everyone stop mid-scroll. Shah Rukh Khan. And Ranveer Singh.

Same room. Same night.

Now, before I tell you what happened between them, you need to know where Ranveer Singh is right now professionally. Because without that, the moment is sweet, but you don’t feel the full thing.

Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is not just doing well. It has crossed Rs 1,650 crore worldwide in three weeks. It crossed Rs 1,000 crore net inside India, the first Hindi film this year to do that. Overseas, it’s already pulled in over Rs 400 crore, which makes it the highest-grossing Indian film ever outside China. Right now, today, it is sitting in the global top 10 highest-grossing films of 2026. The whole world. Not just India. The whole world. Competing alongside Hollywood films with marketing budgets that would make your head spin.

Ranveer Singh, in 2026, is absolutely untouchable right now.

So. The party.

SRK walks in wearing all black. No fuss about it. He’s the kind of man who doesn’t need to announce himself because every room already knows. Ranveer is mid-conversation across the room, talking to the Ambanis, riding whatever high you ride when your film is breaking records every single morning you wake up. SRK walks over. Taps his shoulder. And then just reaches up and cups his cheek. Soft. Gentle. The way someone older does it when they’re proud and they want you to know without turning it into a whole thing. Ranveer’s face in that moment, God, he nods and says thank you and you can tell it actually got to him.

Five seconds. That’s all.

SRK And Ranveer

And the internet absolutely collapsed.

Not in a bad way. In that rare good way, where everyone is saying the same thing at the same time and the thing they’re saying is actually kind. Comments everywhere. Wholesome. Real. People who are usually at each other’s throats in Bollywood fan spaces were agreeing for once.

Because here’s what was sitting underneath all of this.

In the weeks before that party, there was this really annoying narrative spreading online. That senior Bollywood stars were being quiet about Dhurandhar 2’s run. That SRK specifically hadn’t said anything publicly about Ranveer’s success. And people, because people need conflict to stay interested sometimes, started calling it a cold war. Jealousy. Big stars are feeling threatened. All of that.

Look. I get why that story spread. Silence is easy to fill with whatever you want to believe.

But sometimes silence isn’t shade. Sometimes it’s just a man who has been in this industry long enough to know that the loudest thing you can do for someone is show up quietly, without making their moment about yourself, and let them have it fully. No Instagram post. No quote to a journalist. Just, actually being there.

SRK And Ranveer

And that’s exactly what SRK did. He showed up. He walked across the room. And he put his hand on Ranveer’s face like, I see you, kid. I really see you.

Pooja Dadlani, SRK’s longtime manager, was also there that night. She kissed Ranveer on the cheek. Not for cameras. Not for content. Just like you do with someone who’s genuinely close to you. That warmth wasn’t performed. You can feel the difference.

SRK And Ranveer

The party itself was already something before all of this. Ranveer got a mic at some point and performed Aari Aari, the absolute banger from Dhurandhar 2. Denim, leather, full energy, completely doing the most in the best possible way. Sanjay Dutt eventually got up there with him because, of course, he did. Those two on a stage together, even without cameras rolling, is just naturally a moment.

But nothing topped that small, quiet thing in the corner of the room.

Now, some people online are framing this as a torch being passed. And the numbers honestly give that framing some weight. Dhurandhar 2 has crossed the lifetime collections of Jawan and Pathaan. Both SRK films. Both genuinely massive. The math is real, and the shift in Bollywood is real, and Ranveer Singh is right at the centre of it.

SRK And Ranveer

But I don’t fully buy the torch story. Because SRK is not stepping away. King is coming out Christmas 2026, directed by Siddharth Anand, and it’s going to be the first film where SRK and his daughter Suhana Khan actually share a screen. That’s not a man wrapping up. That’s a man who understands rhythm. Who knows when to stand back and when to step forward? Who has been doing this long enough not to feel threatened by someone else’s fire?

He’s been that fire. He knows what it looks like.

That night in Mumbai was Ranveer’s. Full stop. And the most powerful thing SRK did was understand that without anyone having to tell him.

What I keep coming back to, honestly, is just how unplanned it all was. Nobody arranged that moment. Nobody thought about angles or optics or what it would look like on the entertainment pages the next day. It was just a party. People talking, music playing, Ranveer performing on a makeshift stage for a teenager’s birthday, the Ambanis somewhere in the back. And in the middle of all of it, something real happened.

Real things, in this industry especially, are rare. And when one slips through, unfiltered, caught on someone’s shaky phone camera in bad lighting, it travels in a completely different way. It doesn’t go viral. It seeps. It gets forwarded quietly, with no caption, because the thing itself is already everything.

Five seconds. No caption needed. No explanation either.

SRK saw Ranveer. And somehow that was enough to say everything.
