Shruti Haasan REACTS To Claims That She Missed A New Telugu Movie Event Due To Mental Issues

Shruti Haasan, a popular South Indian actress, has finally responded to rumours that she missed the pre-release ceremony for her new film Waltair Veerayya due to mental health issues. For the uninitiated, there were reports that Shruti was not feeling well during the film’s worldwide tour. The stunning diva eventually turned to social media to express her feelings over the reports, sharing screenshots of some of the news articles that claimed she had mental problems. ‘Nice try!!’ she wrote. And thank you for your concern; I’m recuperating well from my viral fever.’

Shruti also wrote a lengthy remark in another screenshot about the need of discussing mental health appropriately. ‘Okay, here’s the thing: disinformation like this, as well as overdramatization or flippant treatment of such matters, is what makes individuals scared to discuss mental health… What do you think? It is ineffective. I will always be a mental health advocate, and I will always encourage self-care in all facets. Oh and… I had a viral fever, so please try to get over yourselves and, while you’re at it, see a therapy. No, seriously, please do’.

Later, she posted a photo of herself in bed, writing, ‘Thank you for all the love yesterday still so sad I couldn’t make it for the grand launch.. rest and recovery mode on and lots of rasam’.

Waltair Veerayya is a Telugu film in which Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja play pivotal roles. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar produce the film, which is co-produced by G K Mohan. The movie will be released on January 13th. Shruti Haasan is currently starring alongside Nandamuri Balakrishna in the Telugu film Veera Simha Reddy.
