Ali Fazal Is Still Running on Guddu Bhaiya Energy — But the End Might Be Near

There’s something about Ali Fazal that feels like walking into a set mid-shoot — a sense of intensity, spontaneity, and a little bit of organized chaos. Whether it’s a Hollywood backlot or a dusty lane in Mirzapur, the man moves like he belongs. Not because he’s trying to fit in — but because he’s already figured out how to make the space his own.

But lately, Fazal’s been reflecting more than raging. And if you read between the lines, something’s shifting.

In a string of candid interviews this week, the Mirzapur star cracked open the tension between two cinematic universes: Hollywood vs. Bollywood. His take? Blunt, refreshingly so. “In Hollywood, the clock rules everything,” he said. “You’re on time or you’re gone. In Bollywood, we’ve learned to romanticize lateness. It’s kind of… fashionable.”

It’s a classic Ali moment — cheeky but astute, critical without being cruel. The man’s danced between franchises and formats, from period dramas in the West to blood-spattered revenge sagas back home. He’s earned his right to observe, and he doesn’t waste words when he does.

Still, it’s Guddu Bhaiya who refuses to loosen his grip on the spotlight.

With Mirzapur Season 4 around the corner, Fazal hinted — maybe for the first time — that the end might actually be near. “This could be the final chapter,” he said, not dramatically but with the tone of someone packing up their dressing room while the camera crew breaks down lights behind him. There’s also a Mirzapur film in the works, one that brings back the “original gang” and promises a “big surprise.” (His words, not mine — but you can practically hear the Amazon PR team salivating.)

And despite the hush-hush vibe around the script, one thing is clear: Guddu Bhaiya isn’t going out quietly.

When asked about playing the character — all raw muscle and explosive monologues — Fazal laughed. “It was easier to give gaalis as Guddu,” he admitted. “That character’s energy just takes over you.” And you believe him. Guddu doesn’t walk onto screen — he storms it. And somewhere along the way, Ali fused with him.

But behind all that bravado, there’s a growing sense of introspection. The industry has changed. The actor has evolved. And maybe, just maybe, Fazal’s now ready to leave behind the blood and brawn for something a little quieter. Something that doesn’t require him to bare his soul with a baseball bat in hand.

So, what’s next? No one’s saying, least of all him. But if you know Ali Fazal — the guy who walked from Lucknow to Hollywood without losing his accent or his edge — you know the next act will land when we least expect it. And it’ll hit hard.

Until then, we’ve got one last round of Mirzapur madness to look forward to. Maybe a movie. Maybe an exit. But definitely, one hell of a goodbye.
