Ranveer Singh Is Eager To Play Contemporary Roles. Raja Babu’s
Ranveer Singh, who is currently promoting Cirkus, was asked if there was any genre in which he had not yet acted. Ranveer has already appeared in rom-coms, historical epics, comedies, and action films, but horror is a genre he has yet to venture into.
“Horizon toh mein dekhta hee nahin, meri phat ti hain,” Ranveer told Pinkvilla. He explained, with a twinkle in his eye, that Deepika once subscribed to an OTT platform for a film about a serial killer. He went on to say that after watching this film before going to bed, they both felt very wary of each other. “So all this eerieness I don’t do,” he continued. “Horror isn’t my thing.”
Ranveer revealed that he would love to play a double role in a remake of Raja Babu. He continued, “Kuch bhi karna, Raja Babu, mat karna,” referring to Varun Dhawan, whose father, David Dhawan, directed the 1994 film Raja Babu.
The Cirkus team discussed old Hindi classics with actors playing multiple roles. The team brought back Dilip Kumar’s Ram Aur Shyam, as well as other hits like Seeta Aur Geeta. Cirkus director Rohit Shetty, who was also present, shared an anecdote. His father was a stunt coordinator for Seeta Aur Geeta, and his mother was a body double for Hema Malini in the same film, he claimed. Cirkus looks like it will be a good time. Shetty also expressed confidence that the film will entertain audiences. “If you liked All the Best, Golmaal, and Bol Bachchan, I think you’ll like Cirkus,” he said.
The film stars Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma in double roles, as well as Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez, with Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn making cameos.
