‘Uunchai’ Trailer: Big B, Anupam & Boman Starrer Is About Friendship.

Uunchai | Sooraj Barjatya’s directorial debut, Maine Pyar Kiya, was a smash hit upon its initial release in 1989. He has consistently produced box office hits over the course of his 30-year career.

After a seven-year hiatus (since his last hit, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo), the director returns with another heartwarming film.

His previous works, including his most popular, focused on the importance of family love, but his most recent film is about the profound friendships we share.

In the film Uunchai, four friends in their seventies decide to climb Mount Everest as a tribute to their late fifth friend. Along with Amitabh Bachchan, the film stars Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Sarika, Neena Gupta, and Parineeti Chopra.

Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction to the film’s trailer was captured on Twitter: “T 4441 – Give this one your undivided attention and love. It is well worth every penny! It is, indeed, one-of-a-kind. Uunchai has finally arrived! The preview is now available for viewing. #75YearsOfRajshri”.

The trailer for the film has been well received, but the plot appears to be derivative.

A member of our community has pointed out that the plot of Uunchai is strikingly similar to that of the Hollywood-produced Martin Sheen film The Way, which was released in 2010.

Uunchai will be available in stores on November 11th, 2022.
