Meghan Markle insulted Deepika Padukone on her podcast?
Meghan Markle, the current royal royal wife, has launched her own podcast, Archetypes. Celebrities such as Mariah Carey, Serena Williams, and Constance Wu are among those who appear on the podcast.
Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, appeared in her most recent episode, and fans of the Bollywood actress are overjoyed that she is working with her.
Deepika and Meghan discuss Deepika’s mental health struggles and dispel rumours that she and Ranveer Singh are no longer together in the podcast.
However, Deepika Padukone’s supporters—or, as some have speculated, Meghan Markle’s detractors—have pointed out that some of Meghan’s statements are offensive to Deepika Padukone.
They read an online script and concluded that Meghan was “condescending” to the Indian actress, which sparked a heated debate on Reddit.
Meghan has a slew of critics who believe she “Americanized” Prince Harry by removing him from the British royal family. This has been a recurring charge levelled against her. Because of the animosity she harbours, the public scrutinises her projects, interviews, and speeches.
Their most recent project is a podcast called Her Archetypes.
Deepika Padukone’s appearance on Meghan Markle’s podcast sparked a discussion about mental health, including the stigma associated with the issue and the importance of a strong support system for those in need.
“This is Deepika Padukone; she is an actress, model, and activist,” Meghan explained to the Archetypes audience. Although her name is not as well-known outside of India as it is in India, she is without a doubt one of the most well-known actresses in Bollywood.
Despite the fact that Deepika is the global face of luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Cartier, and L’oreal, some people were offended by her remark that Deepika was not a household name.
Many saw this as proof of Meghan Markle’s inherent arrogance, as well as proof that Deepika Padukone is on the rise as a celebrity, despite the fact that she is already at the pinnacle of her game.
Their disdain for Meghan Markle has shifted the focus of online debate, with many commenters pointing out that Padukone’s acting credentials far outweigh Markle’s, and that Markle has no right to criticise her guest.
Rather than addressing the serious issues raised in the podcast, they focused on Meghan’s apparent condescension towards Deepika. All of these anti-Meghan conversations and comments actually favour Deepika more than Meghan.
It’s reassuring to know that an equal and significant number of people aren’t bothered by Meghan’s decision to introduce Deepika Padukone as her friend. It’s important to remember that the majority of Meghan Markle’s fans are American, and a celebrity who is a household name for them would be someone like Tom Cruise or Robert Downey Jr., or possibly an Indian celebrity like Shah Rukh Khan or Amitabh Bachchan.
Deepika Padukone has only recently established a presence in Hollywood and the rest of the world, so it would be unfair to assume that everyone is familiar with her.
That’s exactly what Meghan did; she introduced her guest in a fair and understandable manner, and she was chastised for it.
Despite the fact that the Indian film industry is making waves around the world as a result of international hits like RRR, it would be naive to assume that everyone is familiar with our country’s leading actors and actresses. Instead of being offended by the fact that Hollywood is more well-known than Bollywood around the world, why not work harder to catch up?
Deepika Padukone appeared to have no objections to the podcast’s content. It appears absurd to be concerned about something that does not exist.
